OUR STORY
WE’RE CARLY AND IAN
We met while working together as sommeliers at The French Laundry in Napa Valley, where our lives revolved around wine, beer, and cocktails. After starting a family, we decided alcohol was no longer part of our daily lives—but great-tasting drinks absolutely were.
Once we started making non-alcoholic cocktails at home, we had a hard time finding alcohol-free bitters, and nothing that truly felt classic. So we set out to make our own. Drawing on our background in flavor, balance, and structure, we developed a line of small-batch, alcohol-free cocktail bitters made from whole, organic plants and produced by hand in Chico, California.
Today, All The Bitter is used in top bars and restaurants, as well as in homes around the world. Whether you’re drinking alcohol, cutting back, or skipping it altogether, our goal is the same: to help you make better-tasting drinks, without compromise.
With that foundation in place, we’ve now expanded to include a carefully curated selection of non-alcoholic spirits, mixers, and recipes—plus cocktail kits that almost make things too easy—everything you need to make great drinks at home, your way.

Sourcing organic and non-GMO ingredients is just the starting point of our commitment to the environment. We work to reduce our footprint wherever possible—sourcing locally, producing everything in-house, donating spent botanicals to a local farm for compost and cover crop, and handling our own shipping to avoid the extra emissions of third-party logistics. We’re also proud members of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of our annual sales to environmental organizations, from local watershed protection in California to reforestation projects around the world—because caring for the planet today is part of building a better future for our kids.
